Edgewater Resort sits on the shore of Lake Wanaka. All its 4 star rooms have superb views of the lake and mountain. Guests have direct access to lakeside walking tracks from the expansive resort grounds which include 2 tennis courts, a 9-hole putting green, petanque and a children's playground. The resort is less than 5 minutes drive from the centre of Wanaka.

Guests have a choice of hotel rooms or 1 and 2-bedroom apartments. All have a terrace or balcony, a large bathroom with bath and shower, television and video player, and a writing desk. All telephones have a modem connection. Hotel rooms offer a choice of Queen, double or twin beds and include a small refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities.

Apartments have well-equipped kitchen with hotplates and a microwave, a choice of Queen or twin beds, and their own laundry facilities. Edgewater Resort's Sargoods Restaurant serves buffet and full cooked breakfasts from 6.30am to 10.30am daily, a la carte dinner from 6.30pm. The Lobby Lounge Bar and Fireside lounge open from 11am serving snacks and light meals, or guests can choose the Terrace and dine al fresco. Room service operates from 6.30am to 9.30pm. The resort has gas barbecues for a small charge and will prepare a gourmet barbecue pack or a picnic lunch to order.

The area is very popular with hikers and walkers and has some superb gardens and wildflower areas. Garden tours, guided fishing, photographic safaris and skiing excursions can be arranged through the hotel.
