The par 72 championship course is home to the NZPGA Championship. Designed by John Darby in consultation with New Zealand golfing legend, Sir Bob Charles. Playable year-round, the course meanders around a succession of spring fed lakes and trout filled streams, with uninterrupted views of the spectacular Southern Alps. There are four other tee positions to suit players of all abilities.

Beginners and experts can enjoy the finest fishing in high country streams, lakes and rivers or oceans, all within easy reach of Clearwater. Leave the airport and turn left at the first roundabout onto Russley Road and head straight along it. Go straight through the next three roundabouts and stay on Russley Road. Stay on Russley Road until it becomes Johns Road. You will see signs from Johns Road to turn into Outrigger at Clearwater Resort.
Travelling time to the hotel from the airport is about 7 minutes.
